In honor of Greek week, we're going to be highlighting all of the fraternities and sororities on AC's campus. I've already talked about Alpha Phi--now let's chat about SAE:
After almost 130 years at Adrian College, Sigma Alpha Epsilon has certainly gained a great deal of history. After their original house burnt down in a fire in 1969, their current house was built on the same grounds. After talking to a couple True Gentlemen about ΣAE, I found that their favorite thing about this fraternity is the brotherhood and personal development.
Speaking with the current president, Ethan Maltz, I could see how much pride he has in his brothers: "It takes a special person to be SAE." Part of this is the creed by which they live, The True Gentleman, which is inscribed on their kitchen wall.
The brothers all share a feeling of loyalty with each other; each man having the others' best interests in mind. As they get to know each other more, the men expressed that they are able to learn things about themselves, as well as grow as people.
In case any of the men forget what they stand for, they all walk pass a simple reminder everyday, writing on their wall straightforwardly saying "Be a True Gentleman Today."
