Becoming the Bulldog

When I was a sophomore in high school, I was running track and playing basketball. That year, I went to the state finals for high jump and placed fairly well (for a sophomore). And I remember that summer getting letters from different schools around the area about being recruited to their track programs. I got letters from three different schools, and one of them was AC.

wo years later when I returned to states again for high jump, I jumped a bit better and received more letters from some different schools, again including AC. The previous summer I had started to visit some college campuses, as I would have to make a decision fairly quickly about where I wanted to study the next four years

Sure enough, AC sent me another letter in the mail about visiting the campus because I had sent them my ACT score and my contact information and I came out for a visit. Relative to me, AC had purchased a pretty new outdoor track surface and some pretty nifty equipment and had a coaching staff that fit my needs as a jumper and sprinter. Other than track, I fell in love with the campus. The addition to our Caine Student Center was being built and I was very excited that new things were happening and I made my decision: I was now a Bulldog.

And that is how Matt Schacht became an Adrian College Bulldog.
