College campuses are once again coming alive. New faces arrive with shock and awe, while old faces embrace the sense of home once again. With summer ending and fall arriving, there is a sense of change in the air. A sense of a new adventure.
As you enter into another year of college, keep in mind the phrase "Take a leap of faith". When I say take a leap, I do not mean go run off the grand canyon and jump. No I mean, take a step outside of your comfort zone. Go where you have not gone before. Meet new faces that you never knew. Try something new and see where it takes you. College is like a highway. There is a final destination that we are all driving towards, but along the way there are so many different exits and attractions that catch our attention. Pull off on one of those exits and see what small adventures it might contain.
We go through life content in our own little bubble. At some point in life you have to pop that bubble. You have to join the snow globe we call our earth. There is so much in this world that many have never thought of doing. Go and try something new. Stick your head out a sun roof and scream, feeling the the gusts against your face. Enter a haunted corn maze and soar your way through it. Lay in the bed of a truck, stargazing with your best friends. Take a road trip to the the closest beach and sprint into the water with your clothes on. Why? The better question, Why not? That's the point I'm trying to make. Never not do something because you're afraid of what the outcome might be. College is not about hopping on a train and enjoying the ride. It's about taking control and driving your own way through it.
Go and make mistakes this year. Learn from them. Go meet new people. Create new friendships. Go and make memories. Take pictures to remember them forever. Talk a lot, love forever and laugh often. That's a quote taken directly from my kitchen at home. Have an idea about what you wanna do but it does not have to be cemented in stone. You don't always need to have the perfect plan. Take a deep breath, trust yourself, let go and see what happens. College is this entire new highway with different exits along the way to see and explore. As long as you hop back onto the highway you will be successful. Explore exits and turn over rocks. See what new opportunities present themselves. Find your dream car and take it for the ride of its life.
