For someone who has never seen Rome, it is hard to believe how beautiful life can be. Well, a group of Adrian College students and staff had to see the beauty of Rome and the breathtaking power it can bestow.
On December 28, 2015, on a trip across the Atlantic Ocean toward the historical city of Rome, the Adrian College Marching Band began a journey of unforgettable measure. An educational trip, the group would not only let its members enjoy and explore the city of Rome, but perform in the Rome New Year's Day Parade.
One of our own staff members, who accompanied the band on their trip, commented on the gracefulness and respect Adrian College students displayed overseas.
"The entire experience is one you can be proud of. It displayed the excellent ability of our band. Further, it flaunted the character and cultural awareness possessed by our students."
He went on to describe the first time the Adrian College band performed in a church as "a performance that breathed life and panache into a lifeless space. The audience left inspired with the spirit of the season."
Adrian College band members described this experience as a "once-a- -lifetime opportunity." From freshmen to seniors, an experience to explore the ruins of Rome made an impact that they won't soon forget.
