Sodexo and Students Combine to Impact the Adrian Community

As each semester comes to an end at Adrian College, students begin to run out of meal swipes and dinning dollars to use at Ritchie or Caine whether it’s from one month of school left or one week. How would a student be able to eat if they do not have any meals left on their card one may ask? The answer to that was simple. The generous staff at Sodexo developed a plan that would benefit not just the students, but the Fishes and Loaves Pantry in Adrian as well. Sodexo allowed students or customers to bring in canned and non-perishable food items in exchange for a meal at Ritchie or Caine. This food drive began on April 6th and continued until the last day of exams for students. Sodexo asked for three items at breakfast, four items at lunch and five items at dinner in exchange for a meal at Ritchie or Caine.

The results of this food drive were remarkable according to the general manager of Sodexo at Adrian College Scott Rossen. “This really helped out a lot of students that may not have been able to afford meals at the end of the year,” said Scott. “I was not sure how well it would be received but we had an astounding reception to this and donated over 1,200 items of food, which we did in the name of Adrian College.” Sodexo would like to say thanks to all of the students at Adrian College whose kindness and determination helped impact our community in a positive way and are proud of each and every one of them!
