Student of the Week Proposal
Name: Lily Brueckman
Parents: Kevin & Catherine Brueckman
Class Year: Freshman
Major: Marketing & English - Writing
Favorite food: Chili Cheese Fries
Extracurricular activities: Alpha Phi, Tennis, Admissions, Green Action Club
Hobbies and interests: I love to write more than anything else.
Plans after graduation: I’m not quite sure yet. I want to work with a company that promotes creativity as both marketing and writing are fairly creative subjects
Proudest of: I am proud of myself for really branching out in college. In high school, I was pretty reserved and I really didn’t try to put myself out of my comfort zone in a social sense. However, when I got to college I told myself that I was going to really try to be more outgoing and in my college experience so far, I have.
Biggest Contribution to Society: I went on a mission trip to Roanoke, Virginia two years ago and I helped renovate the house of a single mother and her four children. It was a life-changing experience and I would love to go on another mission trip like that.
Inspiring Adrian Staff Member? I was lucky enough to have Robin Bott has my Classical Western Literature professor last semester and she convinced me to take up an English major along with my Marketing major. I really enjoyed her class
What concerns you in the world: One thing that concerns me is that many people are unable to attend college because of the cost. I think that college should be far more affordable to give more people the opportunity to learn and excel in the world. It has become very difficult to find a high-paying job without a college degree and I think that if you have the work ethic, you should at least have the opportunity to try getting a college education.
Best friends are people who: Make you feel like you’re wanted.
A thank you to someone who helped get you to where you are?
I want to thank my parents for supporting me in my decision to come to Adrian College and supporting me in trying new classes. I wouldn’t have been able to get this far without them.
