Why Did You Pick Adrian College? People always laugh when I answer this question, but honest to goodness, the flowers and the cardstock stuck out to me. The attention to detail that Adrain gave to the smallest things on campus, made it shine out above all the other schools I considered. If the flowers and card stock received that much love and attention to detail, I could only assume the opportunities for me were endless: I was not disappointed by my assumptions.
Proudest of: I am most proud of my Mom. Both of my parents have shown me endless support and love my entire life, but I admire my mother for being such a strong, successful, dedicated, hardworking woman. She has always been there to strengthen me, inspire me and keep me on track to reach my fullest potential. I could not be more proud to call her my Mom.
How Would You Like to Help Our World? Like I mentioned previously, learning about hunger in the US, obesity in the US and food waste in the US interests me. If everyone was conscious of how much food they were wasting, it could help not only people that were going hungry, eat but it could also help our earth. My goal is to make people more aware of the frightening statistics surrounding hunger, obesity, and waist and help to convince people the mass benefit of composting and donating extra food that is not being used in their homes. I hope to get composting up and running at Adrian by the time I graduate.
Inspiring Adrian Staff Member? Truthfully, every Adrian Staff member I have met has been inspiring and dedicated therefor it is hard to choose. However, I would say that Jill Ouellette, Jennifer Ellsworth, Bethany Shepherd and Melissa Stewart have inspired me on all different levels. They challenged me to think differently whether it was noticing the differences between a Macy's check out line and a TJ Max check out line. Noticing that if I was to open up an ice cream shop in Amsterdam, I must consider what would be meaningful to that culture: Tulips. Noticing how I would speak, think or debate if I was a historical figure or noticing the deep meanings and interpretations of our historical documents. Or noticing small things like a ' Jesus Saves' sticker on the back of a car, and considering what it really means to people of all faiths. All of these women were and have been extremely inspiring and I am thankful I had a class with them.
Best friends are people who: Constantly inspire, support, push you and love you unconditionally.
